We have a pile of snow on our patio table. The place where Larry would go smoke his ciggarettes. It is really beautiful and clean. I haven't seen this much snow fall at one time in years.
I have been receiving e-mails from people who haven't been able to get on the comments. Or they won't go through. Go ahead and e-mail me: Yellows[email protected]. I'll post the comments when I can.
We went to the store last night in anticipation of being snowed in today. I was out walking in the snow earlier today. Had to go and mail letters. As I was walking along I was thinking about our first winter together. We would walk all over. We were always bundled up laughing and talking as we wandered the city. My Dad had given Larry some warm sweaters to wear in our meanderings. The guy came north unprepared for our winters. My family made sure he was warm tho. My Mom would laugh at how he would come over every day. Larry would even come and see me when the rest of the city had stopped. We had several Ice storms and he was out walking in it coming to see me. He said nothing could keep him from me. My Mom said it was his training for when he became a letter carrier. One time I had to get mad at him to make him stay home. He was falling and bruising himself up. He didn't stay home tho. He had to come over. Back then he said he just had to be with me all the time. When we finally did move in together I was able to get more rest. Because most nights Larry wouldn't go home til midnight. And I had to get up at 6 to go to work. He really was very stubborn when he really wanted something.
This year has been a roller coaster ride. Last Spring My mother learned she has a disease that is not curable. She was a Nurse for years and she made it to her retirement and developed health problems. She was bleeding internally and had to have blood transfusions. Finally they had to remove 60% of her stomach. Last April we found out she has Scleraderma. And it is hitting her fast. She was telling me to enjoy life and do the things we want to do together before it gets too late. So, Larry and I went on a few trips together. We would have so much fun and it was the last 3 trips we took that we really enjoyed each other's company and didn't argue about anything. Usually we would argue about what direction we should have took. The last few trips were like Oh we missed the turn. That's ok let's just see where we end up. And would see something amazing. Our mouths hanging open oohing , ahhing. So My Mom did give us some good advice, and I have some very good memories of going places with Larry. We don't know how long Mom has left. She says she wants to go fast and not suffer. Right now she is in pain many days. Her spine is really bad she can barely stand and requires a walker now. She is Thankful for her life and all that she has experienced. I am glad I still have her with me for this time.
