Your post is poignant for those who value truth in history. Ms. Kelley does rewrite history to fit her prejudices.

I once sought to clarify her position that the word 'Kishwaukee' supposedly meant, "Fast like an arrow through the trees." (That is her version)

Oral history has suggested that it was a French mispronunciation of a Potawatomi phrase for something like, "river of the great trees."

I went to Smokey McKinney's website and referenced his dictionary but could find nothing definitive. I sent him an email and he said, "ask the French."
