"On Friday, Nov. 10, the Cultural Heritage Center will host a Veterans'
Day celebration for Citizen Potawatomi members and veterans from other
tribes. The event is expected to fill the facility's Long Room, as it
did in 2005.
The Veterans Day celebration will begin at 11 a.m.
The highlight will be unveiling of the "Veterans' Wall of Honor."
Located in the Long Room, the "Wall" features video reminiscences by
CPN veterans and exhibits of their memorabilia - everything from
uniforms and photos to letters home and weapons.
Jon Boursaw,
Cultural Heritage Center director, emphasized that it is not too late
for Citizen Potawatomi veterans to provide items and information for
the "Wall of Honor." Boursaw said, "We would be honored to have any
Citizen Potawatomi veterans offer their military artifacts, uniform
items, documents and other items for display. It will never be too late
to do so."
