Yesterday, I was reading this story about the town of Allegan, Michigan entering into a lawsuit with the Gun Lake Potawatomi in an effort to speed up the construction of the proposed Gun Lake Potawatomi Casino: The article The Gun Lake Casino.
Now that is a story that really stood out, because most towns, counties, and states have fought the Potawatomi tooth and nail and go into the courts and drag everything out for years. And then in the end both sides benefit in the jobs that are made, the business to the local communities, and in improvements of the roads.
Nowadays, you will rarely read an article like that anywhere in Indian Country!
