Smoke Signals

If you are a big Pow Wow goer the decision on what Pow Wow to go to this weekend is going to be tough! This coming weekend among the Pow Wows taking place are the Forest County Potawatomi 15th annual Mno Keno Ma Ge Wen Pow wow in Carter, Wisconsin, The 90th Crow Fair at Crow Agency, Montana, The 42nd Wichita Pow Wow in Anadarko, Oklahoma, and here in Minnesota there is the Red Lake Nation Fair, The Shakopee Mdewakanton Powwow in Prior Lake, Minnesota, and then there is the 41st Mille Lacs Pow Wow in Mille Lacs, Minnesota.

It must be a bummer for those students going back to Haskell Indian Nations University this weekend to miss out on those Pow Wows. We might go to the Shakopee Pow Wow this weekend. At the very least we will check out the stands and hope to get a place to sit, it is next to impossible to get a place to sit at that Pow Wow!
