Rob J. Peters: Blog

Rob J. Peters: Blog  is a new native blog that you got to check out. Rob J. Peters is from the Saginaw Chippewa in Mount Pleasant, Michigan and is running for the tribal council there. My brother Eddie has a good friend from over there. Eddie once told his friend ...'The Potawatomi protected the Ojibwe long ago that is why they are still around!'

After the Potawatomi Gathering two years ago, my wife and I stopped off at the Mount Pleasant Casino for a few hours, that was one of the bigger casinos I have been at.  I also got a souvenir coffee cup from there, that is one of my habits, getting coffee cups from native casinos with the tribe's name on it and putting them on the shelves of my bookcase...!

KrystyMedia

If you want to keep up on the latest in the native film and arts scene, you have to bookmark Christine Yazzie's blog KrystyMedia...that blog has all the latest happenings in the native arts and film scene.

Movies about Indians, have come a long way, since them days when they had Italians playing all the Indian parts in movies, and I was spending all those Sunday afternoons in Winnebago, Nebraska watching Westerns and I would be cheering with all the other little Indian kids, when the cavalry came around the bend and came to the rescue of the settlers, you know saved them from all the bad Indians. Talk about brain-washing at a young age! Fortunately, I was able to overcome that kind of thinking along the way!

Yea, check out Christine Yazzie's blog, it is an informative site.
